The five tiny bulbs arranged in a row on this little black box, blinking consecutively and continuously, let you know that The Hashem’s Protection System And Hashgachah System Integrity Alerting Machine is continually scanning to make sure that Hashem is still protecting you and that He is still directing the events of your life. And all the while that the machine finds that both Hashem’s Protection System and Hashem’s Hashgachah System are still intact and are still operating correctly, it emits two short beeps (one for each system), to let you know that everything is still okay. You can choose for the beeps to sound every 1, 5, 15 or 60 minutes.
THE HASHEM’S PROTECTION SYSTEM and HASHGACHAH SYSTEM INTEGRITY ALERTING MACHINE
Helps you trust in Hashem.
If it should ever happen, chos v’shalom, that the machine detects a gap in the functioning of either one of these systems, chos v’shalom, it will sound a loud, screeching alarm.
There are also three “Test” buttons on the machine:
· two Integrity test buttons, by which you can check the integrity of each one of these two of Hashem’s systems yourself, in times of doubt; and
· a Gap-Alert test button.
You can also switch on or off the Scanning indicator lights.
In addition, there is a PERSONAL PANIC setting, for emergency times of personal panic, chos v’shalom, that sounds the beeps every 4 seconds, to help reassure you and calm you down.
You’ve probably already realized that this machine can’t actually do what it purports to do. It’s not really able to scan anything, and it’s not really able to detect any integrities or gaps. In truth, it’s just a lot of beeps and blinks and make believe (like a lot of things in this world). And yet, unlike those other things, this simple little machine can quickly and painlessly solidify within you a permanent awareness that Hashem is always protecting you and always directing the events of your life - no matter what’s going on. And that alone would be worth an asking price.

· (Berachos 60a) The Rabbis taught in a Baraisa: There was an incident with Hillel, the Elder, who was coming along the road and he heard the sound of screaming in the city. He said, “I am confident that that is not within my house.” And about him the verse says (Tehillim 112:7) Of evil tidings he will have no fear; his heart is firm, confident in Hashem.” Any way you explain that verse [is correct] - from the beginning to the end it is explained; from the end to the beginning, it is explained. From the beginning to the end it is explained: “Of evil tidings he will have no fear.” What is the reason? Because “his heart is firm, confident in Hashem.” From the end to the beginning, it is explained: “his heart is firm, confident in Hashem.” “Of evil tidings he will have no fear.” There was a certain student who was going behind Rabbi Yishmael the son of Rabbi Yosi in the marketplace of Tzion. [R’ Yishmael] saw that he was frightened. He said to him, “You are a sinner, because it is written (Yishayah 33:14), ‘Sinners were afraid in Tzion.’” [The student] said to him, “But it is also written (Mishlei 28:14), ‘Fortunate is the man who is always afraid.’” He said to him, “That is written about divrei Torah [words of Torah].” (Rashi, s.v. b’divrei: Fortunate is the man who is always afraid, perhaps [the words of Torah] will be forgotten by him, and so because of that he is constantly going back over his learning.)
