THE CONNECTOR
Helps you feel closer to Hashem.
Seforim Hakadoshim tell us that Hashem is constantly sending down his shefa on each and every one of us. However, if you’re like most people, it’s probably very difficult for you, most of the time, to sense Hashem’s shefa upon you. The Connector can give you practice in sensing Hashem’s shefa on you and thereby help you gain an increased awareness of your constant connection to Hashem.
The Connector is a tall square hut, similar to a Succah, but without a roof. It’s wide enough for you to bring a chair and a small table inside and still have some room to spare. It has a door that you can close. It comes in two versions, one appropriate for inside use and one for outside use. The walls on the inside version are 7 feet tall, those on the outside version are 10 feet tall. It is made of either heavy cardboard, plastic or wood.
The Connector gives you the experience of being inside a vertical tunnel leading from yourself up to Hashem. While you’re inside it, it is easier for you to feel connected to Hashem. The more time you spend inside it, the more practice you’ll get in having your thoughts and senses connected only to Hashem.
And when you’re connected to Hashem, everything is possible.
You must be careful, however, not to do anything while you’re inside The Connector that you wouldn’t do in public or that is against the Torah and against what Hashem wants you to do. Since you will have the sensation of being all alone (which helps you to disconnect from what’s around you and connect more with Hashem), the yetzer horrah can use that isolation to convince you to do something you would not do when other people were around. If you find that your yetzer hora is able to convince you to do something of that sort while you’re inside The Connector, either open the door so that other people can see you or leave it altogether and try again later.
